I have a fair amount of these-are-necessary kitchen appliances. I have a few that’s-really-not-necessary-but-fun kitchen gadgets. I have a bunch of these-make-everything-easier kitchen tools. One item that I often overlook, but use daily is Amazon’s Echo aka Alexa. (Disclaimer, I was not paid in part or affiliated with Amazon or Amazon Echo. I just really love music.)
When I am in the kitchen alone, I can jam to anything. Right now, she’s blasting some Whitney Houston. As a Prime member, I can ask her to play just about anything, and I have here connected to my Pandora account, and I can even have her play my collection of Christmas music. (Disclaimer – I know Alexa can do about a bajillion other things because Amazon emails me with updates, but she is my music companion.)
When I am in the kitchen with L&L, they love dancing and shouting, “Alexa! Play HOT POTATO!” or “Alexa! Play THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!” or “CAKE BY THE OCEAN!” They both have really exceptional dancing skills that are clearly genetic. They dance and set the table, dance and do homework, dance and complain about what’s for dinner. Sometimes we just dance to even the playing field and reset our moods.
To say we have a lot of fun in the kitchen with music and dance parties and silliness is an understatement.
Yes, admittedly, I love the Amazon Echo aka Alexa. But there is much greater Alexa in my life. My beautiful niece. This shot is from two summers ago standing over Montmorency Falls in Quebec.
I won’t lie, it’s always hilarious in our house when the echo is on and Alexa is over.
Its a real struggle when we are talking about Alexa in the kitchen!! 🙂 🙂
I like to think that when everyone has their “Alexa” on a small piece of me is still in the house even when I’m at school ?
Luv this story and hearing how u use Alexa. We struggle to get music to play consistently bc the boys having questions they are dieing to see if Alexa knows the answers to…like “alexa, where did my mom hide the iPads?!” #luv it #buzzkillshehasnoclue ?
Lol. Tonight I was jamming to some kids bop music and dancing, to have that interrupted with,”Alexa! Play The Final Countdown.” Three times in a row wasn’t enough. ?
[…] of advice – Float Carefully. (This is a lot of fun in the summer by the pool.) Get the ECHO. (No, I am not being paid to say that.) In the time I wrote this post, Alexa was on point with the […]
