Ice Cream Float, Next Level

It’s only Wednesday for those keeping count.  I must have missed something because the day has gone like it’s a full moon.  Sometimes a mom just needs her own timeout.  I give you a mom’s ice cream float.

Here are the players.

Already you aren’t disappointed, are you?

Years, and years ago, long before being a wife, a mom, barely a college grad for that matter, I met some friends at RFD in DC and they had this on their dessert menu.  Lambic beer over ice cream.  HOLY COW!  Now, I went sour this go around because I am planning to share the beer with Chef, and I know he would like it.

It was a day in the life of motherhood up in here, and thankfully Chef was home. When I just can’t mom in the moment, I say I’m tapping out.  I served ice cream to Chef, L&L, and pulled the trigger.  Tapping.  Out.

The process for this is pretty simple.  Your portion size of vanilla ice cream.  Your desired amount of lambic, or in this case sour beer.  Cider is a good option, too.  Top with whip cream if you like.

I added Brad so I wouldn’t be drinking alone.  He comes in handy.

I leave you with these words of advice – Float Carefully.  (This is a lot of fun in the summer by the pool.)  Get the ECHO. (No, I am not being paid to say that.) In the time I wrote this post, Alexa was on point with the 80s jams – Jesse’s Girl, Don’t Stop Believin’ (I won’t), and Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now (not even the laundry, the homework, the dishes!)

Enjoy this one!

  1. […] When it was all said and done today, I blared the 80s music in my kitchen, had a dance party with Landon, and made a Sour Cherry ice cream float. […]

  2. Gotta have brad there to make it a party 😉
